Time travel to 1970, groovy baby! This older property features 70s and 80s decor, the owner wants you to experience an older style cabin. If you book this very economical cabin, no complaints about decor or furniture, please. Located in a beautiful, desirable area of Big Bear within walking distance to Bear Mountain Ski Resort and just a short drive to the lake, Village, and more! 

LIVING SPACE - Spacious 1600+ sq ft home with living room, dining table, a beautiful wood burning fireplace, and plenty of comfortable living room seating. 

ROOMS & BEDS - 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Upstairs master bedroom has a king bed, fireplace, and balcony. Upstairs second bedroom has a king bed. Upstairs third bedroom has a queen bed. Bonus room has a futon. Extra blankets and pillows are available.

KITCHEN - Stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, crockpot, rice cooker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, and more.

AMENITIES - Game room with pool table, foosball table, and a chalkboard wall! Entertainment includes board games, card games, TVs with cable, and fast WiFi. Relax near the cozy wood burning fireplace. Laundry area with side-by-side washer/dryer.

OUTDOORS - Hot tub, patio furniture, and charcoal barbecue. Enjoy the forest views from the three outdoor decks. 

PARKING - 3 car driveway

Other things to note:
Big Bear Lake local ordinance 99.300 limits maximum occupancy to 7 people. Children, toddlers, and infants do count as a person. Occupancy is permitted per City Ordinance - overoccupancy could result in a fine or non-refundable eviction.
Pet fee $30 per pet per night (dogs only)

We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. When we arrived to check in at the office, the staff was beyond pleasant and helpful. When we arrived at the cabin, they had already turned the heat up so it wasn’t cold. Our firewood we ordered was already there as promised. The residence was clean. Please understand that most rentals are old and will not have sparkling chrome everywhere you look. They left lights on for us so we could see when we walked in. There were 8 clean towels, 4 in each bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, this is very important to me.The customer service was refreshing. The maintenance man that they sent out was very nice and even checked a couple things extra while he was there. He replaced the propane tank before we could find out it was empty. Which was great because we brought meat to grill. I think the tip we gave him for bringing the firewood helped with his attentiveness. So don’t be afraid to tip a little and get a lot in return for it. The customer service was what it should be everywhere. Thank you Cool Cabins for a pleasant visit.

"A Wonderland Review"

We had a really wonderful week in big bear! This is our Second year using big bear cabins and our cabin was perfectly located to all our favorite spots! Overall everything was nice, the only thing that could have been better was that there were several (4) vacuums throughout the house and none of which worked. There was also no broom/dustpan or mop available within the cabin, however, the front desks was super awesome and arranged all of those things brand new at the office for us to pick up which I thought was really sweet! We just wanted to help ensure the cabin was well maintained since we stayed an entire week, so those tools would have been super helpful from the start but it all worked out in the end!

Our first time to rent a cabin in big bear. Check in was fast as there was 3 clerks helping out the line. The cabin itself was rustic which was our preference, we want that mountain-living experience. The cabin was clean and had all the things we needed (crockpot, coffeemaker and filters, kettle, pots and pans, cutting board, colander, baking trays, paper towels, oven mits.). We were able to grill steak using the gas grill on the patio. There was no fire pit but they have another charcoal grill that we were able to use. The back yard is big and had full of snow for kids to play in. The hot tub was great, clean and hot (just how we liked it). There were few small things to know: cabin has space heaters provided (total of 4:living room, downstairs bedroom, bonus room and garage). We turned on the heater in the living room, bonus room and downstairs bedroom as the main heater for the house was still trying to warm up the house when we arrived. After an hour, the whole downstairs power went out. My husband cannot locate the fuse box of the house. There is no cellular reception inside and around the cabin. My husband had to drive farther to get cellular service. He was able to contact the cools cabin and asked if we can wait till the morning. It was already 10pm and we were supposed to have dinner. My husband demanded to get our power back and they were able to send someone at midnight, showed us where the fuse box and told us not to use the space heaters. If there were there, guests will use it. They should put notes/reminders up if they knew the house can’t take 3 space heaters all at the same time. It would have saved us the hassle of calling them in late at night. Another minor thing, some lights/bulbs were not working, making areas of the cabin really dark. My husband had to put in new light bulbs so our kids can move safely around the cabin. Also, kids didn’t get to enjoy the garage/play room where they have the pool table, hockey table as the room was too cold and smelled. The cabin is also 3-4blocks away from bear mountain ski resort. I just dropped the kids off and was back at the cabin in2 mins. All in all our stay was enjoyable for everyone.

"Great place to stay"

This was our first trip to Big Bear and so we were a bit apprehensive about the rental property not being as good as advertised, but we were pleaslently surprised. The Wonderland home was very clean, spacious, and we felt right at home immediately. The location was perfect since we planned on playing a few rounds of golf, but for the avid golfer be aware that the course is a typical muni, with sub-par greens and fairways. But that being said, if you keep your expectations low you'll have a great round of golf with your friends. The checkin and service was great! Very smooth checkin/checkout process, and even though we had a couple of minor issues (clogged shower head and pilot light out on one of the heating units) the handyman showed up quickly and resolved the problems.So overall a great experience, and would prefer to rent the same property if/when we return to Big Bear.
